Dear Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour, I write to you to convey my utmost disappointment and dissatisfaction with the level of service provided by the Department of Labour.
As public servants, the role of any government department is to service the public. This department is a principle example of a complete waste of taxpayer money. The level of service that they render is so poor that it leaves people displaced and poverty-stricken.
As if unemployment is not bad enough, we come to realize that the Unemployment Insurance Fund will not exercise their mandate or provide any relevant feedback to clients. This, after working for many years and contributing steady amounts of capital to the fund.
Instead we are treated with absolute disrespect and a copious amount of delay. This is a direct example of the unacceptable and inhumane treatment of citizens by most government departments.
The influx of people requiring this service is no more than the influx of people dealt with daily by the South African Revenue Service, yet that department runs without glitch or issue.
