I am writing to bring to your attention the dire state of roads in Elliotdale, particularly the gravel road from Mantintiza to Mbanyana, extending to Cwebe/Heaven Beach. Despite repeated pleas to authorities, including the MEC and National Department of Transport, the roads remain neglected.

We have made numerous attempts to engage with various government offices(Ecdot, EC Premiers office, Ndot, Mbhashe local municipality), including the SAHRC and the ANC, but our efforts have been met with inadequate responses or complete silence. I have attached our email correspondence for your reference.

Given the Committee's oversight role, we urge you to intervene in this matter and ensure that the relevant authorities take immediate action to address the critical state of our roads. With the festive season approaching, it is imperative that this issue receives urgent attention.

We request that the Committee:

1. Investigate the reasons behind the lack of progress in addressing the roads issue.
2. Ensure that the relevant authorities develop and implement a plan to repair and maintain the roads.
3. Provide oversight to guarantee that the necessary resources are allocated to address this critical infrastructure need.

We believe that through your intervention, we can bring about the necessary change and improve the lives of the people in Elliotdale.
