I was employed at Alfred Nzo District Municipality on a month to month basis for six years in an Assistant Manager Post
During COVID-19, in woman's month, on 25th August, they sent me a letter saying that's my last salary.The letter stated post is redundant but a male was appointed in the post doing exactly what I was doing.I was kicked out like a dog with nothing, just leave days pay
I took it up with bargaining council who did not even hear my case because they said it I raised complaint on 27th September but received letter 25th August. In my human mind a month is from the 1st to the 30th, so I was still within timeframe of one month.Although letter is dated 25th, my lady day of employment was 30th August.
I spent all my uif on a lawyer and all my leave day funds but nothing had happened and I am out of funds.Niw I am battling to find work because I am 51 years of age.I am loosing my house and I am blacklisted with all my accounts.I have no way forward and had been used as a scrub rag and tossed aside
Where can I get help because I believe that I was unfairly dismissed and discriminated against because I am colourd as this never ever happened before, they have absorbed all their month to month employees, accept me. The Equality Court won't take my case cause it's a labour matter.I don't know how I can be heard anymore because I have no money. Six years of my life wasted with nothing in return but an expectation of being absorbed like everyone else
