Dear Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour,
I have applied for Uif compensation in April 2025 got my first payment in May,when going back for the second payment there was a problem with the system that shows a payment was done end of April by the employer,and the uif system blocked it,I could not get a 2nd payment.
Tried getting this letter from the employer after a while it was given.Went up and down to the labour department where it was said me and my other colleuges must get a letter from the employer stating we are not working,the letter was given to labour and they said it's correct,wait 15 days max for payment,after 15 days nothing( no payment) Phoned the call centre just to find out no payment request was done,was told to do a payment request online which i did,and are still waiting for payment up until today. There is big problems with the employers who are doing things there way and with labour departments who are sending u from this post to that post and still waiting long for payments. Corruption is going on there,they don't do a service. It's our own money that was contributed and which we worked for. And it's not just me waiting on payment there are many more... The system at labour needs an upgrade... Thank you
