Dear Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour,

I applied for Illness benefit claim on 08/11/2022 on Ufiling. I have emailed all the necessary documents via email. My claim was completed by the assessor on 06/01/2023.

On 17/01/2023 they asked for a salary schedule which I sent through on 19/01/2023.

So my question is, if my claim was completed by the assessor on 06/01/203 why is it taking so long to approve my claim? Surely if they have all my documents and the salary schedule was all they needed there is no need for another 15 days to check the claim. I have been waiting for more than five months now. I was first told it takes 35 working days for a claim to be completed. up until now my status is still the same and the call centre says the claim is still in progress. It has been more than 150 days.

I call and send emails every day to find out if there is any progress or if they need anything else from my side.

I truly hope to get assistance please.
