Dear Portfolio Committee on Agriculture,

I thank the honorable mebers of this committee for the oppurtunity to participate on the upcoming meeting on the 21st of October, via this submission.

I humbly request that the committee address two vital issues under the Minister's porfolio, namely the South African Veterinary Council - currently still ruderless without an acting board, a matter previously and on numerous occasions raised with the ministers office. A matter, that left in the current stautus qou will have devestating effects on the citizens of South Africa.

Secondly, the statutory body NSPCA, this body has been opperating without filfulling its own constitutional mandate. The SPCA Act 71 of 1962 provides statute for the minister to appoint a nominee to this board eah year. This body has failed to ensure representation from the Minister of Agriculture since 2016. This body furthermore has failed to ensure that training, provided to officers of any society for the prevention of cruelty to animals is registered with any recognised and lawfull training authority.
