Dear Portfolio Committee on Agriculture,
My name is Dr Rebone Moerane and I am a qualified and registered Veterinarian in South Africa. I am seriously concerned about the status of Veterinary services in the country. I am also certain that a number of colleagues either in the state services or private sector have the same concerns.
I am appealing to the committee to seriously consider engaging with different stakeholders and role-players on this matter
The current Foot and Mouth disease must be seen as warning signs on the status of services and governance in the country.
