The SOPA Housing Initiative offers an opportunity to uplift vulnerable communities by providing quality, affordable homes while integrating essential social services, including primary healthcare access. This initiative is fully funded by the private sector and requires no financial contribution from government.

By linking this programme to the 12 million SASSA beneficiaries, we can directly improve the living conditions, health, and dignity of millions of citizens. Making participation compulsory ensures that no beneficiary is left behind, while simultaneously reducing pressure on overstretched government resources.

We kindly request the Committee’s support in considering this initiative for endorsement and implementation in partnership with the Department.
