Dear Portfolio Committee on Health,
Good Day Sir/Mam
My name is Zakhele Sibanyoni A professional Nurse at Telehealth Affirnity, a Good Member in standing For the Provincial ANC caucus in Gauteng. I have been in your organisation for the past 7 months with a vast experience in nursing detailing for the past 10 years and more with a Degree busy with my masters degree and BA in Politics. Member and shareholder to some PSS smaller companies signed contracts with Affirnity to cater for the vast 90 percent of black people under your medical insurance.
I write this email sooo hurt and appealed at how Nursing professionals who went to colleges and varsities served and met the required 4800 hours to become nurses to become professionals in serving the citizens are being treated.
The treatment they recieve under the management of Mr Nashaun and his co supervisors Almarie Van Schalvyk, Vuyo Macete is alarming and a ticking boom to the entire company, illtreatment of racism, being backlashed, being subbotaged, being shouted by the mere grade 12 coordinators of the floor with no background on the nursing profession or formal education, Admin individuals of Color speaking to nurses as they like.
In my understanding and knowledge of nursing coordinators must have relevant qualifications to run that floor , nursing educators or trainees as stipulated by the South African Nursing Counsil, but unfortunately in this regard that is not the case you get that coordinator postion or trainee position by how your being favoured by the management.
Furthermore the constant victimisation of my fellow nurses that lead them to being mentally compromised by the management is alarming and a concern.
In my last meeting with the ANC Caucus I did raise these concerns with the Premier and the Deputy minister in the Presidency , they are alarmed and concerned that in Country where the government is fighting for the GNU to work we still have places like Telehealth where a black nurse is illtreated like a slave and told that we feed you and we made you.
First of all nurses belong to the Nehawu, Denosa and other councils which are not represented in the company which make them to fear for their lives and profession.
All the bad concerns are forever raised in the exit interviews of nurses but are not dealt with Because the illtreatment continues to exacerbate.
Therefore I would ask the executive to act swiftly or all the relevant stakeholders and political parties that are represented by Nursing individuals and media houses would be made aware of all these illtreatments and also the Presidency will be pushed to act in protection of our scarce skilled Black professional nurses.
Concern Professional Nurse.
