Dear Portfolio Committee on Land Reform and Rural Development, the Free State/Northern Cape Land Restitution, Kimberley Offices has from 03 March 2025 embarked on receiving Banking Details collection for settlement payments of R500 000 per family to illegitimate claimants on the Rooipoort Land Claim in the Northern Cape near Kimberley against repeated warnings from legitimate claimants that this would amount to waste full expenditure. Secondly, Dept officials has despite warnings from two claimants communities decided to join the Rooipoort and Zandplatz Land claims situated on different pieces of land. Thirdly, the Official in charge told the claimants who opted for payment they could again later benefit from the Land option.

Can the Minister please put an end to this waste
