Dear Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities,
Being a paraplegic for the last 20 years, I find as soon as a service hears the word "wheelchair" - they seem to distance themselves (for example, enquiring about rental properties or moving services).
I am currently me being put out from my rental house by Cradock EC ACVV, after 5 years -with nowhere suitable for my special needs, to go .
As an act of desperacy (post attorneys and ACVV/social development failing me)
I am now reaching out for assistance.
After 5 years at age 50 the ACVV suddenly say I am too young, too independent, i disrupt their system, they want to rebuild my house divide it up for others - a million reasons that serves them and their system. But not me the resident.
I get put out on the street, my needs/health issues of no concern.
It was also brought to my awareness - by the previous ACVV manager of 40 years, that Cradock EC ACVV branch is not compliant (though they passed inspection this year), and currently has a corrupt board.
People having been illegally appointed in her presence. She advised a new inspection, but is some of the board members here also at headquaters. So contacting HQ ends fruitless.
Any advice or assistance will be appreciated.
(Even if it means going global)
Other residents (like the previous manager, who had a stroke) also suffers human rights humiliations. The previous manager indicated she is scared to come forward as then she will also have nowhere to go.
Sincerest thanks
Anita de Lange
