Dear Portfolio Committee on Basic Education,

Department of Basic Education awarded a tender with the value of R 36 890 200.00 to a company called Entsika Consulting. The purpose was to conduct systemic evaluation at the schools in South Africa.
Entsika Consulting appointed us as Fieldworkers to perform this task in the Free State schools. We used our resources to perform the task with the agreement that we will submit claims and we would be paid by Entsika. We performed all the duties and submitted all required claims and documents to Entsika.
To our dismay, Entsika is still owing us for the services performed in May and June 2022. We tried all the means to talk to Entsika about the matter but we are being ignored and we were finally blocked from communicating with this company.

We requested intevervention from DBE but we were told that the matter is not within the jurisdiction of DBE. We further requested intervention and assistance from the following institutions but they also ignored our correspondence; Education Labour Relations Council, Department of Labour, The Treasury, Department of Labour, CCMA, Human Rights Commission

We are left with no option but to request intervention from the portfolio committee
