Re: indigent Grants on Municipal accounts

Dear Portfolio Committee on Social Development,

We, as the All Cape Aboriginal Congress Administration, would like to enquire about the legitimacy of the Indigent Grants implemented through our municipalities.

Is there a Gazetted Policy available that ensures that this information collected by the municipalities is legit?

Please advise if the Municipality has the right to acquire the personal information of the people.
Also, advise if the municipalities get five grants every month to serve the communities and give free services to all?
Why do you charge additional cost to the people?

Lastly, can you confirm if the indigent grants on municipal accounts have been legislated and gazetted?

We hope that this will enable us to advise our communities in future endeavours.
