Dear Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development,

It currently takes 6 weeks or longer to get results from a rabies test from the Onderstepoort Rabies Lab, required for animals being exported. This is a simple straightforward test. This delay has an massive economic impact, and tarnishes the Onderstepoort image of being a world class organisation. Since job creation is of interest, possibly adding additional skilled people to the laboratory people complement may resolve the issue, or to manage performance? I hope this simple management issue can be resolved quickly and to everyone's benefit. No person or animal will be disadvantaged in any way by improving the efficiency of the Rabies Lab at Onderstepoort.
