Dear Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour,

My daughter was born in December of 2020. I applied for the maternity uif benefit in 2020, via Ufiling. My claim was approved and sent to the paymaster. To date I have not received any payment. I have been calling every week since then. It is now 2023 and I am repeatedly asked to resubmit the same document, they confirm receipt every time but nothing happens.

It is very frustrating contacting the call centre as the only thing that these agents can do is complete an escalation. It takes months before there's any feedback from the DOL.

I am very unhappy and I don't see the point of paying UIF.
