Dear Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs,
It has come to my attention that despite an order of the Supreme Court of Appeal to open asylum seeker facilities in Cape Town by March last year, the department has not done so.
This amounts to contempt of court and to dereliction of the constitutional duties of the deparment of home affairs.
I would like to know what the Portfolio Committee is doing about this shocking state of affairs and also when it may be expected that the needs of asylum seekers in Cape Town will be met in Cape Town
