REQUEST FOR A VUSELELA SATELLITE-CAMPUS IN WOLMARNSSTAD
Greetings and compliments for the new season. I hope this letter find you well and in good faith. I would like to take this opportunity to bring our challenges of Maquassi Hills to your attention and looking forward to receive a positive response.
As young people in Maquassi Hills, we are aware of the significance and necessity of having a college/satellite campus in Wolmaransstad because Wolmaransstad is the largest/biggest town in Maquassi Hills. Maquassi Hills consist of the following places: Witpoort, Leeudoringstad, Makwassie, Boskuil, Wolmaransstad and other surrounding areas including farms.
Request for a vuselela campus around Wolmaransstad is a necessity and Maquassi Hills population is increasing rapidly. We have high number of people who have completed matric and can’t get access to higher education due to financial constraints. We also have high number of people who couldn’t finish their studies due to many reasons. We have noticed the vuselela campus at Klerksdorp which is +/- 80KM from Wolmaranssstad, which doesn’t serve the interests of Maquassi Hills at large and other surrounding areas.
We have realised that a campus is needed in Wolmaransstad as it is the main town of Maquassi Hills and other nearby places which rely on it for services. Our approach is from a well-informed point and we believe that as part of expanding the TVET Sector through transformation of education, we want education facilities to be easily accessible to the people to avoid our people to indulge in alcohol and drugs which are today destroying our socities. We appeal to our leadership to take our cries into consideration.
We believe that having a campus in Wolmaransstad will attract investors in our town and contribute to our economic emancipation and economic growth. Poverty, unemployment and crime will decrease. The campus will offer assistance to those who dropped out of school during their Grade 9-11 to enrol for NCV Programme/s.
The campus will get its target number of applications from the following places: Wolmaransstad, Witpoort, Leeudoringstad, Makwassie, Boskuil, Bloemhof, Christiana, Schweitzer-Reneke, Ottosdal, Delareyville, Klerksdorp and other surrounding farms.
