Dear Select Committee on Agriculture, Land Reform and Mineral Resources,
I hope and trust the department is well and ready to assist the inhabitants of South Africa, mostly the natives and the poor.
I am one of the family members who has been tasked by the elders to find the truth to regain our land in Mpumalanga(Badfontein) after many years of being kept in the dark.
The sadness and truth of this matter is, that it's been over 29 years since the family started the journey to try to get the land from the government. I am a 3rd generation of the Patriarch, Johannes Ndlama Mnisi, and matriarch, Gertrude Treya Mnisi.
I humbly request your urgent help and assistance in looking into our case, about, "The farm Quanita 199 JT, Ptn 10 & ptn 22 of Elandspruit 115 JT " , i.e. KRP-No: 3789 and 1021 or subject to (addresses, 114JT, 115JT & 199JT form part Land and the Kwena Dam claim)
Problem:
The elders have been summoned to Mpumalanga, Lydenburg (Badfontein) many times and the most recent is between 6th to 10 May 2024. The meeting involved the claimants, Land & Restitution officers, and a member of the Office of the Valuer-General. The family was promised the claims would be resolved without any delay, but with the compensation approach, both for the land and dam. Please be reminded, that other families lived in that part of the land and stand to benefit, not only the Mnisi, this includes the Nkosi family, etc.
We were promised once again we'd get feedback and a report in the next three weeks, however, when we followed up, the officers advised our case or claims were under investigation, even after the vetting was long completed. The district manager cannot provide tangible answers to anything, once again on the 29th year, we are still sent from pillar to post or it is a delay tactic to have the families give up, the conclusion and suspicion is, that there may be senior officials in the government blocking our claims due to fraud.
We need your urgent intervention, this is a cry from the elders.
Note. If required to furnish evidence to our claims, I'll gladly submit the documentation.
Regards
Mbatseni Hlatshwayo
