Dear Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans,

Please find below, an email that I sent, which explains why I am now appealing to you for action on, what is obviously a huge problem affecting the lives of very many people in South Africa.

Before we can even apply for Military Veterans Pension, we have to first be included on the Database.

Dear Alettie,

I am writing to you on behalf of my friend and myself, we both submitted our applications on the 4th and 5th of October, 2023 respectively. This is now, well over a Year ago, and nothing has been resolved.

Every time I have called, I have been told different stories. I am now being told that you only received my application in July 2024!?

I have included attachments of each of our Applications, together with each Receipt of Application. As you can see, it is now over 15 months since we applied.

PLEASE be kind enough to afford us with a report on the progress of our applications, and some idea of how long this is still going to take.

The original application, together with the relevant documentation was sent to :- "database@dmv.gov.za" , and we subsequently received receipts.

Please give this matter your attention, and let me know what is being done about it.
