Dear Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour,

My daughter was born in July of 2020. I applied for the maternity uif benefit in 2020, via Ufiling. My claim was approved and sent to the paymaster. To date I have only received R283.00 in November 2021. I have been calling every week since then. It is now 2023 and today (17 January 2023), I received an email informing me that they require the same documents again, which were adequate in 2021 and 2022. Suddenly they are no longer adequate. How does this work?

It is very frustrating contacting the call centre as the only thing that these agents can do is complete an escalation. It takes months before there's any feedback from the DOL.

I am very unhappy and I don't see the point of paying UIF.
