Dear Portfolio Committee on Foreign Affairs

I am a political science student currently doing Masters in Politics. I would like to express my concern over SADC as a region. We are a peaceful region, for which I praise SADC leaders for keeping it that way. However, I see that the SADC region have mixed feelings about the SA involvement in the Hamas- Israeli conflict and there is partisan disagreements in SA, as a hegemonic power in the region i feel that these disagreements needs quick resolutions before the socio-political and socioeconomic issues spark conflict in our peaceful region.

What is the SA foreign policy direction regarding Middle East and US relations? Did the SA stance on Israeli on Gaza issue and and ICJ/ICC affected the foreign relations with western countries. What security measures does SA has in place in conformity with AU and UN counter terrorism strategies.

We will always stand by our leaders in all efforts.
