Dear Portfolio Committee on Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment,
Dear Portfolio Committee on Agriculture,
I Tsoane Mmopeherewith want your advice on the other matter related to land right violation. when the Royal Bafokeng Styldrift( mine did their prospecting the community raised their land rights use concern with the mine. After their prospecting they rehabilitated the area and fencing repairs(photos available)
The first Project phase on mine development was Road construction which was constructed on my family ploughing fields which was fenced. They cut through the fence and constructed the road. but before the beginning of the road we ploughed part of the field to show them it was being used but they continued.
We wrote letters to Mr Kharive (letters available), to the Tribal Admin , the King himself and a meeting with him.
There are several meetings with the mine and Tribal Admin and legal Representatives (minutes available) that shows the mine was engaged about their non proper consultation process with the affected parties and the mine accepted their failure to consult.
We have been following this matter with letters to the mine. Since last year we had meetings with the mine about the matter. They are now avoiding us. Letters to their Stakeholder Manager(Tina Malau) are not responding to. Even the Tribal Administration, we met in February, and a letter was written to them with no response.
What would your advice be regarding this challenge?
We feel Administration of Justice has not happened on us
Your intervention will be highly appreciated.
Future replies will be published here.
