Dear Portfolio Committee on Agriculture,

i am a Makotopong resident east of Polokwane. I am a direct descendant of the Mativandlela family. The Mativandlela family is part of the claimants of Makotopong 1200LS, and land was given back in 2002.. The land claim, according to a brief by the land commissioner of Limpopo, was already finalised in 2014. There are problems I Makotopong 1200LS.
There are several problems that and wish to highlight but I wish to emphasize that our problems in Makotopong result from a lack of government support. The problems are as follows. all these points raised here may be provided in the form of an affidavit to the committee wherein evidence will be provided to the committee:

1. The Department is not supportive of the Makotopong community in that there has never been a community meeting that was ever initiated by the Department to ensure law and order.
2. CPA Members whose beneficiary status is either suspect or not a beneficiary.
3. The membership list has been interfered with and includes non-beneficiaries serving the interests of corrupt government employees.
4. Issues raised by beneficiary members are not responded to, thereby creating frustration.
5. on requesting original list of beneficiary members, the Department refuses to provide, however the removal list indicate who are the people who were forcibly removed.
6. Currently, some people give title deeds on communal land, and the removal list denies the names and surnames. The department still refuses to assist. Such names are available from the deeds registry.
7. The list the department has is outdated, and most people on the list are deceased.
8. The director-general refuses to address the dispute lodged.
9. A non-beneficiary convinced a mining company, coincidentally a former chairperson of CPA IS NOW RUNNING an ILLEGAL MINING BUSINESS on the farm AND the MANAGER AT THE DEPARTMENT IS AWARE OF SUCH AND VIOLATES THE CPA ACT AND the MAKOTOPONG CONSTITUTION, BENEFITTING HIMSELF AND THE CURRENT CPA. COMMUNITY IS NOT INVOLVED AT ALL, THOUGH THEY'RE LAND OWNERS.

I wish to end here, however, evidence of everything is available, and I would prefer to supply everything and more in an affidavit as highlighted above, should the committee instruct me to do so.

Future replies will be published here.
