Dear Portfolio Committee on Water and Sanitation,

I kindly request an investigation to be conducted at the Overberg Waterboard for the appointment of Senior SCM Manager who did not meet the position requirements as she mentioned that she was appointed because she knows someone internally at the waterboard. As other candidates we were just invited to accompany her and formalise the process. The position required someone who has 5-8 years experience in senior management level. The appointed person had less than 3 years experience in junior management level not even middle management. The process was not fair as the successful candidate did not meet the post requirements she was appointed because of connections. The successful candidate was working at the Deaprtment of Water and Sanitation at an Assistant Director level reporting to the Deputy Director who is reporting to the Director who is a senior manager. The successful candidate's shortlisting and appointment is irregular since she did not meet the post requirements.
