Dear Portfolio Committee on Basic Education,

I am a member of the Community Recruitment of Funza Lushaka. I have noted no cost-effective activities in the Department of Basic Education. I have requested to meet with the Minister to address the shortcomings without any response.

Funza Lushaka is administered by NSFAS while Funza pays R20 million to NSFAS to facilitate such disbursement. In line with SA Vision 2030, DBE must create 5 million jobs in partnerships with different stakeholders which never happened. This is due to ticking a box reporting in the department generally.

This suspicion was manifested by NSFAS being under administration but still disbursing Funza beneficiary funds.

Future replies will be published here.
