Dear Select Committee on Security and Justice, I have sent an email to report.corruption@dha.gov.za and INSPECTORATE Matthews@dha.gov.za
haven't gotten feedback. Please will you advise me what to do ?
I have been manipulated and deceived into marriage by a man from Pakistan. I met Wajid Ali Rana during a financial crisis; I have two children, and he was very supportive financially, taking responsibility for us. He insisted I move in with him, assuring me that he would provide for, love, and care for us. Before making the decision to move in, I made it clear that I would not be willing to help him with any of his documents. He said he did not need any help with his documents and only wanted to marry me culturally.
When he brought us to Parys Boulevard, Free State, everything initially went well. He was providing for us as promised. After a few weeks, he wanted to go to a private lawyer to help me get a divorce from my previous marriage. He also mentioned wanting to open a business in my name so he could travel to Pakistan and bring his family to South Africa. This surprised me, and I reminded him that I would not assist with such matters.Eventually, he revealed his great need for help because he was paying an agent every month, which was costly. After a week, his behavior started changing, and he withdrew from the children as well. He called the priest who married us culturally and his nephew to tell them he no longer wanted to be married to me, using my faith as an excuse for the divorce. He claimed that since I am not Muslim, he had the right to divorce me, but the real reason is my unwillingness to help with his documents.I feel degraded and deceived because I left my job, and he brought us here to Parys, Free State, only to now refuse to provide for us. Please advise what I should do in this matter.
