I do not favour this bill.

in light of the recent unrest in KZN and GP, it was normal citizens who proteced the comminites with firearms. The reason why they had to do this was in the rush of looters were a number of anarchists that were there to incite violence. They were well armed and met any form of resistance with deadly force.

As the law of the land dictates, retaliation force must be met to the equality of the force dealt and so return fire followed.

It was quite evident and even mentioned by the president that the police were overwhelmed. By passing this bill you remove the ability of normal citizens to help fill the gap in the shortage of police members as it was so evidently shown.

Everyone has a right to life, and everyone has the right to protect themselves. Do not remove this option as the criminals are well armed and are not hesitant to use them.
