Dear Portfolio Committee on Basic Education,
I would like you to please take time to consider a holistic approach to schooling in the deaf and blind schools. In Bartimea, Thabanchu Free STate. The school is not conducive the a beyond the classroom exoerience. The facilities are concerning, from the corridors to the sportsfields, the school is not on par. I cannot even imagine how it encourages physical development and sports ehancement. These children need also to experience success through other avenues and not just academics. Can the stakeholders take responsibility to care for the needs of those who are differently abled and aplly themselves towards an inclussive society. I find it also ridiculous that Bloemfontein has not a single school that offers education to the deaf. This is perhaps something you can look into, after all it is the capital city of the free state.
