Dear Portfolio Committee on Higher Education,

I am an ordinary citizen who values education and have seen how students in some institutions are frustrated and do not know where to direct their problems. Most SRCs are allegedly compromised or even caught in a web of corruption and not helping much to resolve students problems or are themselves scared of victimization by the powers that be. My question is; Where are students in higher institutions, including TVETcolleges supposed to report a lecturer who disrespects his or her job, harass students and is feared by those who must ensure consequence management in a particular institution? Where can students report this and get recourse beside relying on the SRC and the principal before their anger drives them to destroy property or even threaten lives? What protocols must be followed to report such and ensure that whoever is doing this is not protected but faces the full might of the law?
