- Complain About Deplorable Service Delivery at Kwaggafontein (Mkobola) Home Affairs Office .

Dear Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs,
I am writing this correspondence to bring to your attention the lack of service delivery at Kwaggafontein (Mkobola) Home Affairs office. On the 13 January 2020, my niece submitted an application for an ID document and change of surname at the above mentioned office. She was told was told that a standard turnaround time for such application (see the attached copy) is 6 months from the date of the date of submission. I have also attached
Details of the problem
• In June 2020, she went back to Home Affairs office with an intention of pick up her ID but unfortunately, the her ID was available and she was told to check again in August 2020.
• On the above indicated date, she went back again without any success and she was told to follow up in September 2020.
• First week of October 2020, she went back, but she was told to come in December 2020.
• In December 2020, she went again without any success and valid reason behind the delay.
• Today, 28 January 2021, she went again and the ID is still not there.
This deplorable services delivery at Kwaggafontein (Mkobola) Home Affairs office is depriving my niece, a right to further education since she cannot apply and be admitted at a university of her choice without a valid ID document.
Your assistance and intervention is requested in this matter since it will allow my niece to fulfill her dreams.
