Dear Portfolio Committee on Basic Education,

I hereby write to you with great concern regarding the curriculum and structure of COVID-19, My son has missed quite a number of classes due to seasonal changes and experiencing flu symptoms, and as instructed by schools to avoid infecting other children he was away from school, which had minimal classes (maximum of 2 in a week).

This has resulted in him not being able to write certain assessments and as a result defaulted to code 1 in the term 3 performance results.

I would like to query if there is a workaround for this as this is a significant time for all of us and had to face challenges we were not prepared for. Is it possible that he can rewrite these assessments in term 3 alongside term 4 assessments.
