Dear Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs,

Dear Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs,

Firstly I would like to Mama Phindile , Human rights and Legal wise because of them my status as a human being was restored, I am a somebody in this world again for that I am grateful,
But as much as I am ecstatic about my status it is very sad and worrying when I think about what I went through because of not having an IDENTITY, when a person takes away your identity, he or she takes away your livelihood, and existence you're worse than a mere tv set because it even has a barcode to show its existence, with that said it pains that over 700 000 people out there still have the same problem I went through, they can't work , attend schools or even have excess to health care which is the most important thing.
We just had our elections but those 700 000 people did not have a say in those elections.
I know the issue was heard in court but can you kindly revisit again because in on honestly I don't think DHA or anyone has a right to just block a person's existence/identity, I mean if I have an issue with my ID document let me be the one to go report the issue with the DHA and have the issue investigated and resolved, I dont understand why they choose the route of blocking / taking away a persons existence on earth without even consulting them.

I heard the Minister saying he is sending out letters to the affected parties, I put it to you maybe 1% of the 700 000 people will receive the letters, we people move around some people who were blocked have had the ID books since the 1990s do you think they're using the same contact details??
Kindly we beg you to restore these people they're humanity , existence and identity they must have the same rights and opportunities like the rest of us, how can I celebrate having my ID issue resolved whilst I know exactly how other people are suffering out there they can't even receive the R370 grant come on guys.

May I kindly remain anonymous because I might find myself having a blocked ID again.

Kind regards,
