Dear Portfolio Committee on Sport, Arts and Culture, my name is Phumlani Mthembu chairperson of Beach Soccer Steering Committee. I have been giving a task to develop beach soccer in 9 provinces. I wish this committee to support on building infrastructure across 9 provinces, 52 regions and locals. Priority will be coastal places first. Also the funding for 9 provincial structures.

South Africa is ranked number 85 of 113 countries in the world. At the moment there are no structures in place so we are trying to do that as soon as possible.

The steering committee I lead is facilitating the process. We had our first meeting in Durban on the 6 May 2023. Also we do have a problem in terms of booking the venue for our meetings, travelling is a problem because we have to move province by province we need help as well.
