Dear Portfolio Committee on Higher Education,

I write to raise a concern about the lenghty recriuitment and selection process at the Department of Higher Education and Training. I went through the interview process in April 2023 and done competency assessment in May 2023 up to a stage where the Department had conducted reference checks in July 2024 but after that there was no communication from them. I was given a false hope as I was asked if I am still available for the position. When I did a follow up I was arrogantly told that we will be issued with regret letters because the process took very long to be finalised. This is saddening because we prepare ouselves and spend our resources to attend the interviews at the end we're told that process will be restarted. I wish that the recruitment process can be conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
