Dear Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs,

Hallo Home Affairs Team,

Out of desperation, I am addressing this email to all of you in hopes that something will happen about my application currently in the system. I have been struggling since 2014 with my permanent residency in South Africa and as of today, my application has been at Home Affairs for 2 years, 2 months and 17 days and this will be my 11th email! Also, note an article was written in the Rapport about my situation in hopes to gauge a reaction and still I have not received any feedback.

I know I have complied with all the necessary criteria in order to obtain my permanent residence and I do not know why it has been more than 2 years (this is the 3rd time I have waited this long). I am sure your systems and controls at Home Affairs Head Office are more organised than letting an applicant wait this long especially with the implementation of the expensive VFS system that we have to pay for.

Moreover, I am afraid that I am waiting for this long only to receive a rejection for some or other error/fault which is definitely not the case on my part. I made sure I met all the criteria and had all the right documentation.

Any assistance or clarity will be greatly appreciated!
